Lester Parley Willis

Lester Parley Willis, 79, formerly of 414 East Fourth Street, Newkirk, died Friday morning at Newkirk Nursing Home. The son of Ernest and Agnes Willis, he was born June 22, 1905, in Yale, Okla., where he grew up.
He married Bessie Warden in Yale in 1927. They moved to Kansas and in 1940 back to Oklahoma where he worked for the Bar L Ranch and the Big V Ranch until it was sold. Then he moved to Uncas where he worked for the railroad. Later he moved to Ponca City and worked for the George Turvey Meat Packing Company. They lived at 229 Mercer until 1974 when his wife died. Then he moved to Kildare and later to Newkirk.
He is survived by three sons, Fred Willis of Kildare, Ray Willis of Indiana and George Willis of Blackwell; two daughters, Lillie Randolph of Blackwell and Wuanita Mackey of Newkirk; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Henry Cox officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of E. M. Trout and Sons Funeral Directors. Friends may call at the funeral home until 1:30 p.m. Monday.
